To everyone who is curious about “release dates” & how it works:
The date listed on the calendar above is when the Blu-ray disc is available in Japan.
After that it can take up to 2 weeks before any fansub is released.
(If you’d like an explanation…)
Once the disc comes out in Japan, one of two things will happen:
1) The disc was purchased by the group doing the fansub so there is a wait for it to be delivered – Rough average of 10 days to 2 weeks – then they can rip the BDMV from it.
2) If the group uses downloads, the BDMV must be acquired off of the Net (which is how it’s done “most” of the time). There will be an average wait of 3 days for the fansub group to get it.
As a rough example: Day 1 – Someone in Japan actually buys the disc, rips it, and uploads it to a share site (ex. Winny or Share). Day 2 – The file (the BDMV) finishes being uploaded to the share site and is d/l from there (or it’s eventually u/l to a site such as Tokyo Toshokan, Nyaa, FS, etc. and d/l from there if the group can’t access the share sites). Day 3 – The fansub group finishes d/l the file (these things are LARGE, in the 20-40GB range)
(And to keep the explanation going all the way through to the end…)
Once the group has the RAW (in this case the BDMV), they can begin working on it which entails:
RAW >Translation(TL)>Translation Check(TLC)>Timing>Editing(Ed)>Typesetting(TS)>Encoding>Quality Check(QC)>Distribution
Some of these steps may be concurrent if there are multiple members of the group and some steps can skipped for BD re-releases such as…
-TL, TLC, Editing, & TS – Assuming a good translation (script) can be found
-Timing – Assuming there was an earlier DVD release & it’s exactly the same length as the BD
(Note that “skipped” is overstating it, all the steps will be verified during the QC)
—However, if there are any BD extras, all the steps must take place for those files

Just to state the obvious, there may be delays in the release dates for anime BDs due to Nai no kami 地震神 getting restless.

All I want to say is keep up the good work guys. I’ve seen alot of animes from alot of groups, and I gotta say you are one of the best fansubbers out there. I’m not exaggerating when I say I check your site every day (sometimes 2 or 3 times a day).
